Micropoetry Challenge!
Oh Dog! It’s time for our latest poetry challenge! Today- MICROPOETRY!!!!
I love poetry, and I love that you love to write poetry. It’s great fun.
To me, writing, singing, or making art are the ways we tell the world about the real us.
Micropoetry consists of 140 characters or less.
Here are my contributions.
.
.
In the Still of the Night
In the still of the night CRASH! BAM! ZOOM! Thunder in the hallway! Followed by grumbles, groans then flush!!!! now stillness, snores.
Walks- From a Dog’s Point of View
Marching, marching, marching,
sniff! sniff! sniff!
marching, marching, marching,
SQUIRREL! SQUIRREL!
LET ME AT ‘EM!
*sigh*
marching…..
So see
if ya want me
to be
a friend to thee
ya gotta write me
some micropoetry!
Your Turn!!!!!

Dead of night 3am: perfect time to wake up them!

Friday poetry, it is
one of the enjoyable activities
that we join together
October 7, 2011 at 7:57 AM
That’s so true!
October 7, 2011 at 5:31 AM
Looking forward to this since you announced it Rumpy! So, here’s my contributions (yes, more than one, I really chewed on the pencil end whilst thinking up some micro-poetry. The first one is exactly 140 characters MOL
Yay! Poetry Friday
Rumpy’s blog makes my day
A wordy challenge or two
lots of poems for me and you
140 characters the limit
difficult, darnit
And then one with regards to one of my favourite activities
I tickle Paw’s face
and move into my place
Snuggling in his embrace
I am safe from harm
knowing he cannot withstand my charm
Ah humans, so easy to manipulate… And then the last one, in memory of my fursis Nikita, for some reason she has been on my humans mind.
I held you tight
fighting back the tears
your breathing slowed,
you became still in my arms
I miss you little Princess
October 7, 2011 at 7:58 AM
Poetry can help humans release those emotions they didn’t realize they were carrying around.
October 7, 2011 at 5:36 AM
A mic-poem has got to be terse,
With very few words in the verse,
So I gave it a try,
But I just don’t know why,
It all went from better to worse.
October 7, 2011 at 7:59 AM
ROFL! I love it!
October 7, 2011 at 5:57 AM
Morning after noon sun
Density altitude of feline soul
Sinks gravity
Footprints in hard packed earth
Gazes at raptors
Dreams
But doesn’t see.
October 7, 2011 at 7:59 AM
Wow! You are GOOD!
October 7, 2011 at 6:38 AM
Mist on the river and frost on the ground
Crunchy leaves scattered all around,
Winter is coming, it’s really trying
Might as well admit it and stop denying!
October 7, 2011 at 8:00 AM
and the Malamutes dance with joy
October 7, 2011 at 7:51 AM

Shades of red
Litter the deck
In layers I must sweep
I resist because I want to keep
This memory a little longer
October 7, 2011 at 9:26 AM
I know what you mean!
October 7, 2011 at 9:17 AM
In the stillness of the morning
I await the crisp cool day
Then off upon my way
I am.
A silent, wandering, lonely man
Heeds the weather’s warning
Summer’s lost in mourning
October 7, 2011 at 9:22 AM
A Rose is a rose
With a wet, black nose
Only love in her eyes
Only truth; never lies
Loyal heart to the end
Rosie-Rose my dear friend.
October 7, 2011 at 9:25 AM
I LOVE it!!!!
October 7, 2011 at 9:40 AM
Mic me lad
Such a cad
Sleek black shadow
Flipping here, flying there
Sister’s bane
Rose’s pain
Drives his Dad insane
Buddy mimics sleeping
Little Mic comes a’creeping.

Rumpy Dog
June Buggie and Dee
Seems a suc-cessful
Blog recipe
Teach us to care
Teach us to cry
And to savor as day goes by
Gentle heart, eyes of a dove
Truly a blessing of love

I felt so inspired about #micropoetrie this afternoon, so I did the following (on twitter) and like to chip in
when your today is my tomorrow
all the hours we do borrow
blinks of eye. never no sorrow
October 7, 2011 at 12:55 PM
Isn’t it amazing how something like poetry can inspire us? That’s why we have to take it back for all of us and not just for those identified as being ‘real’ poets.
October 7, 2011 at 1:14 PM
Okays….
For the cold, i wish you shelter
For the hungry, i wish you a feast
For the poor, i wish you comforts
For the hurt, i wish you peace.
May all your needs
Be fulfilled indeed.

The thunder makes me howl
The water makes me shiver
I scratch and bark and growl
The wind it makes me quiver
OPEN THE DOOR!
Thank you!
It sure is raining.

October 7, 2011 at 6:01 PM
It’s fun reading all these poems. Here’s mine:
I’m scared of thunder
it makes me blunder
my house I plunder
whenever there’s thunder.

October 7, 2011 at 6:52 PM
How’s that going for ya Bongo?
October 7, 2011 at 6:05 PM
What’s this about micropoetry?
A friend to you and foe to me.
How dare you limit what I do best,
To 140 characters or less.
Okay. Here it goes …
Sweep, vacuum
Sweep, vacuum
Sweep, vacuum
Sweep.
Are there more ways
To earn my keep?

pups in the park
so much fun
balls to chase
a run in the sun
big loud bark
meet up with a friend
wish this is how
each day could end
If we were dogs, we think this is how we’d feel.
Love from RainbowCatsx8
October 7, 2011 at 7:33 PM
It IS a wonderful way to end the day!
October 8, 2011 at 10:05 AM
Oh dog I’m so late submitting these poems… Huuuuhhh…
My fur is red
and I think I’m great
But now on my head
There’s a bald patch
Human gives liver
And I can’t say no
Then I see pigs ear
I just have to chow
Love your challenges Rumpy! Hope I’ll be on time nxt time around!

Halloween is almost here
Let’s give a cheer
Let’s run in fear
Chase the girl that you like best
Wear your cowboy vest
Or superman chest
Now hop in bed, you ghostly goon!
Halloween will be here soon!
