Oh Dog!  I am so excited! Today I am gonna introduce you to one of my oldest online friends.  IcyCat has a wonderful rescue story, and she’s going to share it with all of us today.  So put your paws together and help me welcome IcyCat Whitefur!!!!!

Rumpy:  Thanks for being my guest Icy.  So you’ve got a compelling story to share.   I can’t wait to hear it!

Icy:  I was found on the mean streets of Lansing, MI by Ingham County Animal Control and they took me to the shelter.  One of mommy’s friends who volunteered at the shelter and who took pictures of cats for their website and Petfinder.com, told mommy about me.  He said I was a beautiful, all white kitty, with two different color eyes.  Mommy had rescued two other white kitties during her rescue and foster years and both of them had gone to Rainbow Bridge, so mommy really wanted to meet me.

Rumpy:  Oh Dog!  I’ll bet!

Icy:  When mommy got to the shelter, she fell in love with me as soon as she saw me, but they wouldn’t let her take me home because I had a cold.  Mommy had to leave without me and wait 11 days until I was better.  Mommy’s friend checked on me every day and sent her pictures of me.  Finally, I was better and mommy came and adopted me.

Rumpy:  I bet Mommy was happy to finally have you home with her!

Icy:  I had my own room in mommy’s house until she took me to the vet and had all my shots and got me spayed.  After that ordeal, mommy introduced me to the 5 other kitties in the house and they accepted me right away.  They were used to foster kitties coming and going, but I was here to stay.  I had a nice house to live in, lots of food and treats, clean litter boxes, lots of toys and a big sun porch to go out on.

Rumpy:  Sun porch?

Icy:I love the sun porch.  Mommy has a cat flap so I can go out anytime I want.  It’s all surrounded by windows and gets lots of sun.  Mommy has two cat trees out there and 3 cat hammocks.  Mommy even put special pet screen in all the windows so we can’t scratch it up and get out.  I was only 6 months old when mommy got and me and very small.  My fur is pure white and so soft and I has one Icy blue eye (that’s why mommy named me Icy) and one eye that looks gold or green depending on the light.  Mommy can’t believe that someone would dump such a beautiful kitty on the streets and we are so happy we found each other.

Rumpy:  I can’t either!  I’m glad you found each other too.  Now I hear you’re a camera hound?

Icy:  I absolutely love to get my picture taken.  Any time mommy gets out the camera, I just start to pose.  I am very photogenic and the camera loves me.  Mommy says I’m just like a model.  I wish I was famous so I could make mommy lots of money so we could save as many kitties as we could.  Mommy is retired now and she doesn’t have enough money to do all the foster work she used to do.  But when she did, she was able to find homes for over 50 kitties.  I didn’t know mommy then, but I know her love of cats is why she had to come and get me from Animal Control.

Rumpy:  And what do you like best about your Mommy?

Icy:  I love mommy because she takes such good care of me and I am very spoiled.  I have everything a kitty could want.  I get to sleep wherever I want and mommy doesn’t even get upset that I shed a lot.  She takes me to the vet right away if she thinks anything is wrong.  She never yells at me and lets me be the crazy kitty that I am.  I love that mommy loves me so much and that us kitties come first in her life.

Rumpy:  And, any complaints?

Icy:  I have one big complaint about mommy.  She recently rescued a kitty from the New York shelter kill list and she lives in Michigan.  She had to drive to Wheeling, WV and have her friend take care of us.  There were volunteers who brought this kitty from New York to Pennsylvania and then a wonderful person, Katie Adamow Wandall and her husband Ed, brought her from Pennsylvania right to Wheeling, WV.  Mommy was at her brother’s house in Wheeling.  Then mommy drove back to Lansing, MI with this new kitty.

Her name is Cinder and she is all black and I don’t like her.  I want to be Queen/Princess of the house and now I have a new sister who gets lots of attention.  Mommy is trying to tell me I was just like Cinder, in a shelter before she rescued me, and that I should have some empathy, but those are human feelings.  I just want to be the top cat and Cinder does too.  So, the only thing I don’t like about mommy is that she brought home another kitty.  Hisssssssssssss.

Rumpy:  Oh Dog!  I sure hope things work out well for everybody!  Well one more question for fun.  Since you said you didn’t want to be a dinosaur, what kind of animal would ya be?

Icy:  This is a hard question because I love mommy and I have the best life ever being a cat in her house.  Mommy loves birdies, especially parakeets and I think it would be fun to fly all over the place.  I wonder what wings feel like.  I know we all get angel wings when we go to Rainbow Bridge, but flying free sounds wonderful.  I would also like to be a huge white horse that mommy could ride along a beautiful beach.  I would gallop along the sand and surf and mommy’s hair would be flying in the salt air and sun.  That would be such a dream come true for mommy.  Mommy loves birds and horses, so as long as I would get to be with mommy, I think I would prefer to be a horse.

Rumpy:  That sounds great!  Well Icy, thanks so much for being my guest today, and thanks to your mom for all she’s done in her life to help animals!
