MEOW! My name is June Buggie, and I have something to say.
If you live in the US, please read this carefully!
The FDA has proposed a rule stating that breeders who sell over the Internet must be licensed and inspected under the Animal Welfare Act. Right now they have NO regulation.
I guess it goes without saying there’s alot of opposition to this rule.
But YOU can help regulate the sale of puppy mills dogs by contacting the US Dept. of Agriculture and letting them know you support this proposed rule change.

Or you can go to the Humane Society web site and fill out their automated form letter.
PLEASE take this step to improve conditions for puppy mill dogs. Is it the solution? No, but it is a start.

Shocking that there is no regulation currently. I hope you get the support you need as puppy farms need to be stopped in all countries.

Too often we’ve heard of a dog bought online that arrived sick. There has to be some accountability, and this is a minimum amount.

Shocking that there is no regulatiuon for intenett sale of pets. Even more shocking that people would buy just online – I can’rt imagine buying an animal that I had not visited at least once but then the UK is much smaller so it makes it easier to travel around.

Great post June Buggie!!!! How scary that there are no regulation to sell animals over the internet…..we don’t want to see poor animals anymore and YES! although it is not a solution like you said dear June Buggie, we Have TO take any action to save our furfuriends!!!!!

Whee don’t live in the US but whee fully support your campaign. It is sad it has taking this long but one day animals will have the love, rights and homes they deserve.

Some animals sold online are really sold through a clearinghouse that has numerous puppy mills they do business with. This is an attempt to address that problem.

I live in Europe, but support the campaign. The Humane Society form accepts a European address, but I don’t know if it will count – no harm in trying though.

Puppy mills are awful….when we read about another Humane Society rescue in the HSUS magazine we get upset all over again. They certainly should be regulated if not totally outlawed PERIOD. So sad….so very sad and having heard enough horror stories about them in our lives, you’d think something would have been done well before now!

I wish I could help. I live in Canada and no doubt, this problem is everywhere. I just wish everyone would shop at shelters, we found every lovely soul we’ve had there.

Have you seen the recent photos of a Sarasota puppy mill? Heartbreaking. Thanks for passing on the information about how to send a letter to the USDA. The online form was very simlple and only took a minute to complete.

Maybe we should develop people mills stocked with those cold hearted individuals who currently run puppy mills…I’m sure they would change their attitude about the whole idea of puppy mills very quickly…
