DeDe’s Got a Secret!
Oh Dog! It’s Sunday, and that means it’s once again time to visit with your Dear DeDe! So gather around my friends, because this week Dear DeDe has a secret to share with you!
For the past six weeks, you could find me parked in front of the TV at 7 pm Central time watching the CBS show Dogs in the City. And I loved every episode.
Why, you ask?
Simple…. I got it bad for Justin Silver!
Now I’m sure you know why humans, especially women, love this guy…. he is indeed a handsome dog trainer!
But I love this guy for different reasons.
Justin started out fostering and rehabilitating abused animals. I mean, really, that’s enough to make my heart swoon!
Then he opened his company, The Language of Dogs. This is a full-service company offering training, pet-sitting and dog-walking!
But that’s not all! Did you know that Justin is also a comedian? He sure is! AND he started a group called Funny for Fido, a charity that raises money to provide grants to no-kill rescue groups. Some big-name comedians perform at their annual fundraising event!
And many of the people he worked with in Dogs in the City were people who were caring for rescue dogs.
Oh, Dog, be still my beating heart!!!!
I do have to say that I’m rather disappointed that the show wasn’t better supported by my friends. I mean, really, this guy is working his heart out to make the world a better place for us animals…… so where’s the love?
I sure hope CBS chooses to pick the show up for another season.
Have a good week everybody!

July 15, 2012 at 7:34 AM
Awwww…. it is, isn’t it?
July 15, 2012 at 1:17 AM
Hi DeDe, i have seen only an episode of this show and he is really good with dogs. I hope to catch it when it is on tv next week.
July 15, 2012 at 7:34 AM
Well the season ended this past week and I don’t know if they’ll show it again or not. I sure hope so.
July 15, 2012 at 1:19 AM
I’d never heard of that show… I’m not sure if we’ll get it over here but will keep an eye out for it.
July 15, 2012 at 7:35 AM
Well, there’s nothing new in the world… literally. Maybe you’ll have an Aussie version soon!
July 15, 2012 at 1:38 AM
Sounds a great show – pity it isn’t shown in the UK.
July 15, 2012 at 7:35 AM
And maybe there will be a UK version too!
July 15, 2012 at 1:57 AM
DeDe – he sounds like a very special person. Hope the show goes on.
July 15, 2012 at 7:33 AM
I do too! There aren’t many men who get that seal of approval from ALL the women of this household, but Justin does, paws down!
July 15, 2012 at 3:44 AM
I’ll be looking out for this show now.
July 15, 2012 at 3:51 AM
OMD!!! Justin seems to be pawgeous human to work for making our “animal world” better!!! His show should be much more popular!
July 15, 2012 at 7:33 AM
You’d think, right Kevin!
July 15, 2012 at 4:16 AM
I hope he makes it over to UK!!! My heart is beating a bit faster too, DeDe! Don’t tell Austin
July 15, 2012 at 7:32 AM
*whispers* Your secret’s safe with me!
July 15, 2012 at 4:37 AM
Aww! DeDe you’re such a sweetie with your reviews.
July 15, 2012 at 7:32 AM
BOL! Thanks Carolina!
July 15, 2012 at 4:44 AM
Wow, the show sounds fantastic! We don’t get it here, down south in Africa but I wish we did. I love the idea of Funny for Fido.
July 15, 2012 at 7:31 AM
Maybe someday in syndication? It really is a great show! The best part is he deals with the humans as much as he does the dogs.
July 16, 2012 at 1:36 AM
I should think he has to deal with the humans even more! The dog issues are usually reasonably easy to sort out, if you can get people to be normal – not that many of us are.
July 15, 2012 at 4:57 AM
You are right. Swooning is very appropriate. Great job Justin.
hugs, Max
July 15, 2012 at 7:31 AM
And believe me, it takes alot to make this old girl swoon!
July 15, 2012 at 5:16 AM
OMGoodness! Mom and I love Dogs in the City, too! We watch it every week! We didn’t know Justin was ever a comedian, but we always think he is super funny and smart on the show.
Love and licks ( and an extra lick for Justin),

July 15, 2012 at 7:56 AM
What day is the show on? Hmmm….maybe it isn’t good for the major networks and the Animal Planet might need to pick it up.

That Justin Silver sounds like the cat’s meow! We’d never heard of him before, but he is really sweet to do all that good work. Thanks for stopping by and helping us celebrate our Gotcha Day!
July 15, 2012 at 10:14 PM
Wow he sounds like a great person! We need more like him in this big ol world
July 15, 2012 at 10:25 PM
Awesome piece of news!
… And eye-candy. Thank you Dede
July 16, 2012 at 5:54 AM
I did not know all that. Thanks for sharing. He is a “hunk.” and I do enjoy his show.
July 16, 2012 at 2:35 PM
I had no idea!!! Hope it gets picked back up for you Dear DeDe…and maybe we can check it out too…happy week
July 16, 2012 at 8:58 PM
DeDe, our family taped the show so we could watch it each week. I don’t know why it’s not more popular. More people should seek help with their dogs–even if Justin isn’t available to help them!! xo Berner Girls
July 16, 2012 at 9:26 PM
He is a dreamboat! You said it DeDe!

July 16, 2012 at 11:27 PM
Justin is a hero!
July 18, 2012 at 12:45 AM
We like Dogs in the City and tried to watch all the shows. Justin is cute, but we like him because he helps dogs and helps people understand their dog better. We didn’t know he was also doing all the other rescue, and charity work. That makes him a terrific guy, we hope they pick it up next season too!
July 18, 2012 at 11:30 AM
Hey DeDe, Jet here.
Mom posted about that show before it aired! We’ve watched a few times, too. Thanks for filling in the background. I’ll check with JJ to see if she is crushing on him!
July 18, 2012 at 10:03 PM
He’s definitely a hottie!
July 22, 2012 at 1:45 PM
I think the show is cute and that Justin is certainly drool-worthy!
I hope more seasons continue, especially now that Cesar’s show is ending. I didn’t watch much of Cesar but I think it’s great for a show to be out there to educate people on animals. I actually think people should be tested about and how to care for animals. But that is for another time…
