DeDe’s Party Plans!
Oh Dog! Has it really been a whole week since we last visited? Uh….. actually, no, it hasn’t! *giggles*
It’s Sunday and I’m DeDe!
The plans for Rumpy’s party are in the works. Are you ready?
Good, because here is what we’re gonna do.
On Saturday when you show up, you’ll probably see a post filled with pity about how everybody forgot his birthday. Yell SURPRISE (by using all caps) and then tell Rumpy what you’re gonna do to promote World Spay Day in your community. He’ll love it!
Spaying/neutering your pet is the single most important thing you can do to reduce the over-population of companion animals.
Not sure yet how you can spread the message? Here are some ideas:
- Write thank you notes to the low-cost clinics/ services in your area
- blog a post about the importance of spaying/neutering your pet
- talk to your neighbors and friends about the importance of spay/neuter
- learn of the spay/neuter programs in your area, so that when people ask, you’ll know where to direct them
- write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper
- contact the local spay/neuter programs and offer to volunteer, or donate…. many programs can use old towels or sheets, cleaning supplies such as bleach and paper towels, and snacks for the volunteers! Oh, and don’t forget you could offer your computer skills!
And of course, every program needs money. If you can afford to give, please do. Here’s where you can access the World Spay Day Event Portal.
Just remember though, if you put it in writing, Rumpy’s gonna expect ya to do it.

We regularly drop off old towels etc to our local RSPCA centre. I am a member of Cats protection and also foster kittens for my local branch – I have two at the moment and they are gorgeous. No cat animal leaves the RSPCA or Cats Protection without first having been spayed/neutered and the Cats Protection offer free neutering, so no excuse for owners to have lots of unwanted kittens to be homed. Looking forward to Rumpy’s party – a great surprise for him.

You guys do great work at promoting responsible pet ownership. It’s not so much of a problem around where we live, perhaps more so in inner city areas? Nonetheless, well done on your campaign. I will be on the look-out for places I can help x.

I’m a member of my local Cats protection and donate when I can. I think this campaigne so important so as not to get unwanted offspring!

We donate pet food, in some of our supermarkets, they have stalls.. Great post DeDe and happy belated Birthday to Rumpy

I can’t wait for Rumpy’s Gotcha Day and spaying/neutering is a really important problem to all humans and to animals! It saves both of them if we can find a good way to improve the spaying/neutering rate!

Rumpy will celebrate 6 years with Jen, and he was around 9 months old (according to the vet) when Jen found him. Is that what you’re asking? Love, DeDe

We like to support two shelters within a few hours of our home…so glad we have a home here – we didn’t always :/ and we worry about our fur friends who are still looking. No reproduction going on in this house!
