Warm Thoughts on a Cold Monday

Oh Dog! Monday is back! I think the only way to get rid of that day is with a Restraining Order!

It's Monday, so ya better have an extra cookie!

It’s Monday, so ya better have an extra cookie!

My friends over at Twinketoe Tails have a regular feature they call Flashback Friday. Yesterday Jen was looking for a picture of a family member when instead she found a picture of June Buggie and Bubba as babies! So even though it isn’t Friday, I’m gonna wish that it was and do a little flashback of my own!

Lover Boy had lost his mate of many years and was living with Jen. Then one day Jen came to work and found on her desk a carrier with two babies inside. Her co-worker had found them on the grounds at work and knew Jen could give them a home.

Lover Boy acted like he didn’t like those babies, but one day Jen snuck up and saw this and took a picture.

Hard to believe that one of those sweet babies turned into THIS:

  13. Oh dear dear Rumpy, so sorry, we really feel your pain over here. Does that make you feel a little better? Good. Now here’s the real poop: Do NOT yawn in JB’s face when he first sidles up to show you a little kitty-love. We think that’s the whole problem right there. We kitties do not take kindly to being yawned it. It is us who do the yawning. Got that? Good. Now go *fawn* on JB (what a difference one letter makes) and see how that works. And remember: You can run, but you can’t hide.

  25. Yea, sometimes I think Mondays deserve a restraining order, too! It finally got cold here in NE Texas; down into the low 30s overnight. There was a light dusting of snow early this morning. I’ve noticed, however, no matter how cold it gets, my dog is always warm. I often place my hands or bare feet against the sides of his body just to warm up. And, of course, I always feel so good afterwards! Something about animals makes life better.

  26. Oh my dog. I know my Lou would have loved to do this to our dogs, but they wouldn’t respond the way your Rumpy does. There was an uneasy truce in the house. Lou would swipe and run. They dogs would bark and chase.

  27. JB is lucky Rumpy will indulge that persistent kitty love, LOL…what I really liked was watching DeDe’s tail wagging away thru the whole thing…oblivious to the drama, mwwwaaa adoreable

  30. We are so glad you enjoy the Flashback Fridays. We worry we will bore folks with our tales of kitties long gone. We loved your flashback, and now we know who rules the roost!

  36. June Buggie is mighty lucky that Rumpy tolerates her swipes and tackles. You gave me a real chuckle with your opening line; Oh Dog! Monday is back! I think the only way to get rid of that day is with a Restraining Order! (I am so stealing this.)

All About Me!

Hi! My name is Rumpy, and I am an Alaskan Malamute. I used to live in Middle Tennessee, but now my family and I reside in southeast Alabama. I have this cool blog that I started in 2011. Here at rumpydog.com we talk about all things animal, with a focus on animal welfare and responsible animal companion guardianship. But we also like to throw in a heaping helping of cute! cute! cute! I mean, how could you look at me and not melt, right?

My story? Well, I was found on the side of a busy street. Jenny thought she would help me find my home, but nobody claimed me. So now I live with her. She's a pretty good ole' gal, but she is mighty stingy with the dog cookies. *sigh*

There are also some cats- they each have their own story. June Buggie is their chief spokesperson. He is 16 years old, crotchety, and not afraid to say what's on his mind.

All writings and photos are the copyright property of Jenny Threet (unless the writer is a guest blogger, in which case it is the property of that guest blogger) and may not be used without permission.
