And the Day Comes……

And eventually the day comes when you realize that this is the new normal, so you’d better get used to it and move on.

062

there is a time to mourn, and a time to move on

I’ve been offered a job in North Central Florida, so I’ll be nearby Jacksonville, Gainesville and Tallahassee. I’ve got to find us yet another place to live and then get packing.

I recorded an interview with Paws to Talk podcast back before Christmas and that is going to air next week. More info to come. I hope you listen!

By the way, this is my 900th blog post. What an accomplishment. I’ve been blogging longer than most of my relationships have lasted. LOL

006

and cookies to dole out….. don’t forget that!

Well, there are still mouths to feed and litter boxes to scoop, so best get on with it.

Enjoy your weekend.

  1. Although it will be a hassle to move, it may be nice to start fresh and leave the place with the sad memory behind.

  2. Still sending hugs……and a congratulations for the new job although moving I’m SURE isn’t high on your list of “fun activities” along with finding another house! Good luck Jen…..moving forward isn’t always all that much “fun” but it is of course necessary. Keep telling yourself you can do anything….because you can!

  25. Not another move! Ah well, at least you can console yourself with the fact that each time you move makes you more of an expert on HOW to move. I’m sure you wouldn’t be doing this if the new job weren’t worth it, so big congrats on that.

Oreo, Ling Ling and Tilly Tot wish Rumpydog and the cats an easy move. Their advice is, don’t sweat it. It’s soon over and then you have the fun of exploring the new place. And they send lots of nose nuzzling and rump smelling.

My advice is determination, lots of friends to help, a pluritude of cardboard boxes, a stout marking pen, and a bracing drink to help you relax at the end of it (and pizza…did we mention pizza?)

  26. Yes, we all need to move forward, through whatever pain or loss we leave behind. We wish you all the very best in your move, and in doling out treats!

  28. Oh, I have a friend in the pet-medication field in Gainesville! Wonder if you’ll ever meet? Hope Rumpy can stand that heat, but the cats will love it!

  30. If I moved more often I would have some much junk! That is about the only good thing I can think about moving. Good luck with your move and your new job, sometimes a fresh start is helpful.

  31. I think the move is perfectly timed. Good luck. Don’t forget to pack the cookies!

  32. Sending lots of hugs and purrs for an uneventful move…also virtual boxes and sturdy packing tape! Wish we could be there to help. Forty paws stand ready! Gainesville has a vet school, so there’ll be lots of compassionate anipals and their people to surround your sweet family with kindness. Luck and love to all!

  35. 900 posts. Now that’s commitment. Congrats on that. Good luck on your new job. Rumpy and that gang will be very happy if you don’t need to work weekends or nights. They like you around,

In terms of moving, you must be an expert on that having just moved a few months ago. You get to purge each time you pack. When I was thinking about moving and beginning to purge, the questions I asked myself was, Do I want to pay for the mover for moving it. If the answer was, “No”, i purged it.

Good luck house hunting and with your move. What’s the time frame?

  39. Life is a fickle bitch she matches on regardless of what we are going through. I suppose we can look on this as a hindrance or a blessing.
Congratulations on the new job! I am so impressed at how you cope with moving and looking after the loving furry pals. I hope this latest move affords you some permanency so you and the gang can recharge your batteries.
It is sad that the beautiful Dede has gone you gave her a happy life and she gave you love, she would not of weathered another move so time has removed that worry from your shoulders, at a high price I know.
What I am trying to say in my cack handed way is good luck with the move and the job. DeDe will always be in your heart. The rest of the gang are quite capable of keeping you busy.
Well done on the 900th blog that is an accolade :D Good luck and I look forward to the next post.I may just tic like more than I comment but I have grown to love you all.:) xxx
