That darn Monday is here AGAIN! She’s liked less than a used car salesman directing traffic for a road construction crew.
At least we have the memories of a lovely weekend.

So last night Jen was on call. Nothing unusual about that. Except this time she actually got some calls. And was gone a long time.
When she got home, this is what she saw.

Today we have two letters. The first comes to us from the gang at DogDaz, who by the way won the prize contest from the ASPCA!

Dear RumpyDog and Santa Paws,
We think we have been very good doggies and kitties this year, so could you bring us the following presents for the winter holiday:
- Noel wants every lost animal to find it’s way home
- Louise wants people to stop hurting animals (and humans too) and could you find them extra special loving homes. (Louise was hurt and you brought her here, so she knows you can do it.)
- The Muffin Man wants everyone to get along.
- Sofie Bear wants every animal to have enough to eat (and maybe she can help them eat it.)
- Miss Constance Kitty wants to be an only cat (do you have a cat in the North Pole? Is it nice and quiet there?).
- Nine wants an erector set, and one of those climbing trees, and a whole bunch of cat nip toys, and …., and …..
- Stella wants to play with whatever Nine gets (but she really would like a diamond studded collar.)
and the DogDaz human wants people to shop local and remember that your charity makes a very big difference.

Dear Santa Paws,
Despite a gang of evil birds who are determined to stain my character with wild accusations, I have been a pretty good pup this year – I hope you agree!
Obviously lots of treats and toys in my stocking would be good, but what I’m really wishing for is snow!! I hope you’ll be able to send some in my direction.
Also, if you have any miracle-grow for fur that would be useful, my poor shaved belly is starting to feel the cold!
I’ll definitely be leaving out some cookies and a glass of sherry for you on Christmas eve, along with some treats for your sleigh team (we all know the reindeer thing is a myth so I’ll dispense with the carrots, unless like me, your mallies and sibes like them
)

It’s TRUE! Santa really DOES use sled dogs instead of reindeer! But those deer have a contract and well……

My friends over at Twinketoe Tails have a regular feature they call Flashback Friday. Yesterday Jen was looking for a picture of a family member when instead she found a picture of June Buggie and Bubba as babies! So even though it isn’t Friday, I’m gonna wish that it was and do a little flashback of my own!

Lover Boy had lost his mate of many years and was living with Jen. Then one day Jen came to work and found on her desk a carrier with two babies inside. Her co-worker had found them on the grounds at work and knew Jen could give them a home.
Lover Boy acted like he didn’t like those babies, but one day Jen snuck up and saw this and took a picture.
Hard to believe that one of those sweet babies turned into THIS:

So we kinda sorta did a little too much partying over the weekend, and we don’t really have a blog post planned for today.

Hi! My name is Rumpy, and I am an Alaskan Malamute. I used to live in Middle Tennessee, but now my family and I reside in the Florida Panhandle of the US. I have this cool blog that I started in 2011. Here at rumpydog.com we talk about all things animal, with a focus on animal welfare and responsible animal companion guardianship. But we also like to throw in a heaping helping of cute! cute! cute! I mean, how could you look at me and not melt, right?
My story? Well, I was found on the side of a busy street. Jenny thought she would help me find my home, but nobody claimed me. So now I live with her. She's a pretty good ole' gal, but she is mighty stingy with the dog cookies. *sigh*
Also living here is DeDe- an older lady of unknown origins that was living at the trash dump. DeDe has many health concerns, yet you'd never know it by looking at her. She's the happiest dog in the whole world!
There are also some cats- they each have their own story. June Buggie is their chief spokesperson. He is 16 years old, crotchety, and not afraid to say what's on his mind.
