Archive for what dogs want for Christmas

And Last, But By No Means Least….

Posted in pets with tags , , , on December 24, 2012 by rumpydog

OH Dog! It’s here! It’s here! It’s Christmas tomorrow and tonight Santa is coming! Santa is coming! I bet there’s not a carpet in the world without just a LITTLE pee on it! woo woo woo!

Today we have two last letters to the Big Guy. And after you read the first one, you’ll see why I saved it for today. Nope, it’s not sappy by any means, but well….. *whispers* Santa IS kinda busy today so may not realize who’s writing it.

Anyway, without further ado, here is Cocoa Puff with her letter to Santa!

Hi Cocoa Puff!

Hi Cocoa Puff! What a great smile!

Dear Santa:

I know our relationship became a little strained with the ‘definition’ of endless bacon last year and to be fair I do regret the “I am going to suing your Jolly Red Butt off” incident. So let us start anew, shall we?

I'm with Cocoa Puff.... that is NOT an endless supply!

I’m with Cocoa Puff…. that is NOT an endless supply!

This year I have been very good. There has been no sneaking out the gate, counter surfing the Sunday roast … what? How did you know about … well yes there was that grabbing the chicken, and the sandwich, and the hot dog out of Aunt Betty’s hand but that was a training exercise. Trying to teach her to hold it up higher.. out of my reach.

So what I would like (expect) this year is an ENDLESS supply of bacon. Endless meaning it never ends, always there, anytime I want it.. how could you have been so clueless last year.. *cough*  sorry bygones will be bygones.

My Mom could have been better but hey I am in the Christmas spirit so why don’t you throw her a bone…. no a real bone… well sure she would like it. If not she can always give it to me.

Looking forward to seeing you on Christmas Eve… just want to make sure there are no misunderstandings this year….

Luv Cocoa Puff

Sacked out and waiting for Santa!

Sacked out and waiting for Santa!

Thanks Cocoa Puff! And last, here’s a letter from the FiveSibes!

FiveSibes Santa letter

Thanks to all my friends who sent in their letters to Santa!

In case you missed it, here’s a recorded letter to Santa from me and June Buggie.

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas, and I hope all of your holiday dreams come true!

Stella’s Christmas Wish!

Posted in pets with tags , , , on December 23, 2012 by rumpydog

Now it’s only TWO days until Christmas! I can hardly wait! woo woo woo!

Stella is a wonderful dog who blogs from her human’s bookshop. with a Christmas wish that only Santa can fulfill….. at least I HOPE he can!

Sweet Stella!

Sweet Stella!

Dear Santa Paws~

My name is Stella the Great Newfenees and I’m hoping, because I hear I don’t live too far away from your place at the North Pole (globally speaking, that is), you might have time to pay me a visit on your Christmas rounds.

I’ve been a pretty good dog this year, although I still have (a lot) of trouble coming when I’m called. But that’s only because I’m busy trying to protect my two-leggers from the dangers lurking in the Boreal Forest. And what is really the priority, eh? I’m sure you will understand my point of view….

All I really want for Christmas is another Dog Friend to live and play with me, and help me guard my two-leggers. I’m awfully lonely for dog company in the Winter because all my dog friends go away ’til Spring.

I know my two-legger Elizabeth would like another dog friend, too. But we have a problem. I have a lot of health problems, and Elizabeth can’t afford another dog. She and my other two-legger Kay have talked about fostering, but now that I’ve picked up a tick-bourne disease from the wood ticks in our area, they are afraid another dog might also get sick from them. They wouldn’t want to have another dog get sick, or that they couldn’t care for properly. And I understand completely, really. I do!

But I’d really love a pal.

I’m hoping maybe you could find a way to help me solve this problem. I hear you’re pretty magical. Maybe I’m asking for too much? That’s what I’m kind of afraid of…. But it’s okay if you can’t help. I’ll understand. Maybe in that case, you could just see that my dog pals get back safely in the Spring?

Thank you, Santa Paws.
Love,
Stella the Great Newfenees & Bookshop Dog

P.S. I’m sending you a picture of me in one of my favourite places – a snowbank, so you’ll know what I look like when you drop by… OH! and set a guard on your reindeer when you park them… we have some hungry old wolves hanging around! (I got beaten up by a deer twice, so I’m not very good at guarding them myself….)

Dear Santa: Can you PULEEZE make Stella’s Christmas wish come true?

Loup’s Letter to Santa!

Posted in Letters to Santa! with tags , , , , on December 22, 2012 by rumpydog

Oh Dog! We’re down to THREE days until Christmas! I’m so excited I might pee on the carpet! Good thing it’s Saturday, huh Jen? woo woo!

Today’s letter to Santa comes from my best bud Loup, who hails to us from Canada and he (occasionally) blogs at Life According to Loup. He’s a real riot, so I know you’re gonna love his letter to Santa. But the question is…. will Santa? *gasps* For the record Santa, publishing them does not mean I endorse them!

The one and only- Loup!!!

The one and only- Loup!!!

Dear Santa,

How ya been this year? Hope there is lots of snow up at the North Pole. We have none right now in Ottawa, Ontario since it all melted away. Just lots of rain and that’s no fun for a snow dog like me. Sigh. Could you bring me some snow from the North Pole when you come if we don’t have any by Christmas? I bet that North Pole snow is magic snow. I’m sure of it.

Hope you’re not still sore at me for that time I helped pull the sleigh. The toys only got a tiny bit wet and muddy (Okay, they got soaked) when I dragged the sleigh through that mud puddle. No harm done. Let’s put the past behind us, shall we? Forgive and forget and all that. You’re a jolly old elf, right? *Grins and teeth ping*

Unlike those naughty cats. B.f. Thorneycroft and Gordon Drummond, I’ve been a really *COUGH* good doggie all year long so I’m hoping you will bring me all the gifts I want this year. You are going to give them coal, right? *looks hopeful*

Now for my gifts, first I’d like my own hot tub mud bath. You’re welcome to join me, too, of course. I’m not selfish like those cats, Big and Gordie. *rolls eyes* Of course I may need the deluxe extra large size tub if you’re going to join me, Santa.  *Winks* Guess Mrs. Claus has been baking again, hasn’t she? Getting quite the tummy there!

Speaking of baking, does Mrs. C. have any cookies for my pal Rumpy T. Drummond and I? My pal, Rumpy, just loves cookies. You remember him, right? He lives in Florida which sure is a hot place for a Malamute to live. Don’t know how he does it. Phew! I get hot just imagining it. UGH!

Hey, do you think you could get me one of those little rooms like they have at Mark’s Work Warehouse where you can make it freezing cold and windy in summer time to try on heavy coats? I’d love one of those rooms for summer time as it can get mighty hot and humid around here.

Cathy has a paddling pool for me but only my front feet fit. It’s a joke really. *rolls eyes again* I know she does try, poor girl. We don’t have an in ground pool like some of my lucky doggie friends south of the border.

For my next present, I’d like a new garbage can to hold all the garbage I’ve been collecting lately. It’s starting to pile up and I need a place to store it. Do you have garbage cans the size of a grain silo? Or better yet, maybe one of the farmers around here has an extra silo they don’t mind giving me. Can you arrange it, Santa? You’re so good at that.

And finally, for my last present, I’d like a fresh toy delivered each day since I keep losing and destroying the ones I have. Can you arrange that? I don’t need anything fancy. Cathy gets me toys at the dollar store and not at the expensive doggy boutique where the chic dog owners shop. Hey, I’m okay with it, really. *Cheap Creep….grumbles under breath*

So I hope you will have a good night for flying, Santa, and that the reindeer don’t give you grief. That Rudolph is a saucy one, isn’t he? Must be that red nose of his. Better check he’s not flying under the influence. Thought I smelled candy cane brandy on his breath last time.

So have a great Christmas yourself, Santa! Hope you get a break after working so hard on Christmas night to bring joy to everyone.

All the best for the New Year and drop by sometime. My doghouse door is always open and I’d love to see you. Just don’t touch my dog dish while I’m eating. GRRRR!

Love Loup

Oh Dog! I sure hope Santa’s in a good mood when he reads this! woo woo woo!!!

Some Things Even Santa Can’t Fix

Posted in Letters to Santa! with tags , , , , , , on December 21, 2012 by rumpydog

Oh Dog! It’s only FOUR more days until Christmas! I am SOOOOO excited!

My friend Brin from Shackleford England is so excited too…. or he was. Read his letter to Santa, followed by a footnote.

Brin the Boxer from Shackleford!

Brin the Boxer from Shackleford!

Dear Santa,

My very dear friend and fellow Boxer, Themba, died a few months ago. Before that, he was quite poorly, and we didn’t have as much fun in the garden as we used to.

I have been a good boy, kind and gentle to my Mum and Dad, as we all mourned the loss of little Themba.

This week, Mum and Dad told me they feel well enough to ask Santa (or the Rescue centre) to bring us a new friend in time for Christmas. They have been thinking about it for some time, but it is a difficult process to re-home a dog, and they did not want to get my hopes up.

Yesterday, we went on a long trip in the car (and got a bit lost). When we got there, we were greeted by the loveliest lady who gave me a drink of water and a romp in the sheep field. After that, she brought George to meet me. George is a 2 year old Lurcher, who was rescued as a stray in the Republic of Ireland. He was going to be destroyed, but the good people at The Dog’s Trust took care of him and brought him to England.

He has been well looked after and fed yummy food and is a lovely chap, and boy does he run fast!  We had great fun. I was very tired on the trip home, and slept all night next to the fire, thinking about George. Mum and Dad have heard this morning that they have been accepted as George’s new Mum and Dad, and he will be with us in two weeks.

Thank you, Santa, for helping my wish come true in time for Christmas.

Mum says she will introduce George to everyone once he is settled in his new home.

Happy Christmas!
With lots of love from,
Brin the Boxer
Shackleford
England

Lovely letter, isn’t it? Except that George is not coming to live with Brin after all. Apparently the The Dog’s Trust rescue organization made it so difficult for Brin’s family to adopt George that they have decided not to do so.  June Buggie is going to report to you about this situation after the holidays.

In the meantime, please pray for George to find another wonderful home, and that next time the rescue group won’t blow it for him.

Naughty or Nice? You Decide….

Oh Dog! In today’s letters to Santa we have a study in opposites.  One from a cat. One from a dog. One on the Nice list. One obviously isn’t. Guess which is which?

Gordon, the only cat more evil than June Buggie!

Gordon, the only cat more evil than June Buggie!

Dear Santa……

Just get me LOTS and get FATDOG nothing. I don’t need a new bed thank you, I just claimed FATDOGS.

Your friend Gordon.

*gasps* Oh no he didn't!!!!

*gasps* Oh no he didn’t!!!!

The audacity! Not only is he naughty, but he sends photographic evidence to prove it! I’m telling Santa that Gordon is certainly NOT nice! But Emma, on the other hand, is a sweet girl and definitely nice. Emma blogs at My GBGV Life.

Dear Santa Paws,

Hi, it is Emma the GBGV here writing you from Minnesota which is far from the North Pole mom tells me.

I have been busy going through my catalogs choosing the items I really need.  I think I have been a very good girl this year, at least I have been trying really hard.  I have not caught a wabbit in almost a year now, and have been focusing on just chasing wabbits and squirrels.  I have also been nice to my big sister and my cat bro Bert, Sophie I never see, so she does not count.  Mom says I am a devil but I don’t know why.

For Christmas this year I would like more bird feeders for my squirrels and maybe some more bags of food because those fat squirrels really eat a lot.  I could use some fun new collars from my favorite place, Up Country, Inc., I need a new 25 ft. Flexi-Leash because I pretty much killed mine taking off after a wabbit (cord got cut on the brick as I rounded the corner of the house), lots of snacks like bully sticks, cows ears, tripe and any other good treats you have in stock.

I will put out some milk and cookies for you and a big bowl of water and some carrots for your reindeer as I do every year to thank you for stopping by.

Thank you,

Emma the good dog J

Emma!

Emma, the very good dog!

PS: Please send us lots of snow and cold weather this winter as we love winter and so does our mom!

Still More Letters to Santa!

Posted in Letters to Santa! with tags , , , , on December 15, 2012 by rumpydog

Oh Dog! I’m sure lots of adults around the world are very busy today, because this is the next-to-last weekend before Christmas! Lots of shopping, lots of baking, lots of making merry to get done! woo woo woo!

Today we have two letters from some very cool big dogs! Let’s see what they’re asking Santa for this year.  First up is Dexter and Jack from Dexter’s Days.

Dexter-and-Jack-Santa-lette

Aren’t those two adorable? I’m sure Santa will make you both very happy on Christmas morning guys!

Next up is my friend Clowie from Clowie’s Corner:

Dear Santa,

Thank you very much for the chews that you left under the Christmas tree for me last year. I’m sending you a picture of me relaxing with one of them, to show you just how much I appreciated them.

I have a slightly different request to make this year. I have heard that you will be giving lots of people the movie “Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups”. I can see that the stars of this film are incredibly cute, they are mini versions of me!

I am worried that everyone will want a puppy and I know we’re not the right breed of dog for everyone. I would like you to include some information about Pyrenean Mountain Dogs, or Great Pyrenees, with each copy of the film you deliver. We need our bipeds to ensure that we get lots and lots of socialisation and training when we’re puppies. Most of us, as puppies, can cause chaos faster than you can say, “Ho, ho, ho! Merry Christmas!”

If your elves need any help preparing a leaflet to go with the film, I would be pleased to assist them. They could also read this information about the sort of bipeds we need: Are These Big Dogs Right For You?

I will put out some hay and a few buckets of water for your reindeer. I hope you have time to let them take a rest at our house – they work so hard for you on Christmas Eve.

I won’t be leaving anything out for you this year – I caught my bipeds eating the mince pie and drinking the brandy last year. They explained that you can’t possibly eat and drink everything that is put out for you. But they also said that you are welcome to help yourself, if you would like something to eat or drink.

Lots of love,

Clowie

P.S. The male biped says that when you landed the sleigh on the roof last year, you knocked a couple of roof tiles loose. Please could you be more careful this year?

Clowiechew

Excellent Clowie! I hope Santa does just that!

.

.

.

Today is a bittersweet day. On the one hand I am so excited that Santa is coming soon! On the other, I am so sad because many people in Connecticut are grieving today. Santa cannot bring them anything to make them feel better. For  those families I send my prayers and all the comforting energy I can muster.

Letters to Santa- Thursday Edition!

Posted in Letters to Santa! with tags , , , , , , , on December 13, 2012 by rumpydog

Happy Thursday! The days are passing quickly until Santa comes, and I am sooooo excited! woo woo woo!

Look! It's SantaDog!

Look! It’s SantaDog!

Today we have two letters. The first comes to us from the gang at DogDaz, who by the way won the prize contest from the ASPCA!

The Dogdaz family!

The Dogdaz family!

Dear RumpyDog and Santa Paws,

We think we have been very good doggies and kitties this year, so could you bring us the following presents for the winter holiday:

- Noel wants every lost animal to find it’s way home
- Louise wants people to stop hurting animals (and humans too) and could you find them extra special loving homes.  (Louise was hurt and you brought her here, so she knows you can do it.)
- The Muffin Man wants everyone to get along.
- Sofie Bear wants every animal to have enough to eat (and maybe she can help them eat it.)
- Miss Constance Kitty wants to be an only cat (do you have a cat in the North Pole?  Is it nice and quiet there?).
- Nine wants an erector set, and one of those climbing trees, and a whole bunch of cat nip toys, and …., and …..
- Stella wants to play with whatever Nine gets (but she really would like a diamond studded collar.)

and the DogDaz human wants people to shop local and remember that your charity makes a very big difference.

Thanks Santa Paws – We do believe – The DogDaz Zoo

I believe too! I believe that you should all get what you want, especially Nine!

Next up is our friend Misaki from The Misadventures of Misaki! She’s a Malamute like SantaDog! woo woo!

Misaki from the Misadventures of Misaki

Misaki from the Misadventures of Misaki

Dear Santa Paws,

Despite a gang of evil birds who are determined to stain my character with wild accusations, I have been a pretty good pup this year – I hope you agree!

Obviously lots of treats and toys in my stocking would be good, but what I’m really wishing for is snow!! I hope you’ll be able to send some in my direction.

Also, if you have any miracle-grow for fur that would be useful, my poor shaved belly is starting to feel the cold!

I’ll definitely be leaving out some cookies and a glass of sherry for you on Christmas eve, along with some treats for your sleigh team (we all know the reindeer thing is a myth so I’ll dispense with the carrots, unless like me, your mallies and sibes like them:) happy)

Lots of big slobbery doggie kisses,

Misaki

It’s TRUE! Santa really DOES use sled dogs instead of reindeer! But those deer have a contract and well……

Happy holidays!!!!!

Bunk Writes Santa!!!

Posted in Letters to Santa! with tags , , , , , , , on December 6, 2012 by rumpydog

Oh Dog! It’s crunch time at the North Pole and Santa is working hard to send happy holiday dreams to good furry creatures all around the world!

Today’s letter to Santa comes from a guy that’s on the questionable list.  Let’s see what Bunk the Pug from Bunkblog is asking for this year!

It's Bunk!

It’s Bunk!

Dear Santa Paws,

Pug oh Pug, have I missed chu! I know I have done some naughty things this year, such as licking some furry butts, eating some poop, destroying the humans’ clothing, harassing Doug the pug and making fun of Lady, but you know what, who does not? Santa, is it naughty to pee on the carpet and poop on the couch? The humans seem to think so but I am not quite so sure. I think I want your opinion on it!

Now, I do want to make a case for myself. I have sat down on all four paws and also made a list of good things I have done. For example, I have made sure that each night before going to bed I spend 5 minutes licking the humans’ faces and especially cleaning out their nostrils (booger, booger, go away!). My manners have improved as well. When I go to the dog park, I make sure I sniff a dog’s butt before I start chasing them. Of course, you must know about my newly improved table manners. I beg from the chair now, instead of from the ground. Yes, I have found a seat on the table. I am slowing working my paws up to the table itself, but I need to make sure the humans don’t think of me as a platter of food and try to eat my tail. Speaking of, how much kibble do you think I can sell my butt fur for?

So let’s just get down to business. I have been thinking about my list for a while and have tried to cut it down to things I really want. Firstly, I would like to have a big bone. I am a small dog and so I never get big bones. I see them whenever I go to PetSmart. They are shaped like turkeys and sometimes they are shaped like a chicken instead! Sometimes, they even sell them shaped like you Santa! Santa, can I eat you? I would also like an unlimited supply of food please.

Santa, please be nice to me and don’t put poop in my stocking this year. You did that last year, and I know you laughed all your white teeth off, but I did not think it was that funny. Instead, please try putting tons of kibble, treats, toys and clothing in there.

Love,

Bunk the Pug.

.

Oh Dog! Is he a character!  By the way, Bunk is celebrating 25 Days of Christmas and giving away tons of cool prizes on his blog throughout Christmas! Go check it out!

Letters to SantaDog!

Posted in pets with tags , , , on December 1, 2012 by rumpydog

Oh Dog! OFFICIAL! Santa’s Helper Rumpy T. Drummond here! Jen told me she actually talked to the Big Guy yesterday, and he asked her about an incident involving bathroom trash being found in the hallway. I assured her Santa had me mixed up with the dog next door.  *looks around*

Anyway, enough about me. Today we’re featuring letters from Freddie and Gloria at Basset Momma. I can’t wait to read what they’ve asked for!

Oh Dog! It's Santa!

Oh Dog! It’s Santa!

Dear Santa:

Freddie here. I’m not gonna try and sugar coat this letter and be all like “All I want is new hips and knees” or “I want world peace” so lets just cut to the chase shall we. I think I’ve been pretty good, well, whatever. Anyway, I would like one of those cool green toys that my buddy Hawk has. I think Momma called it a Kong Rope Squeeze. Every time Momma’s got his blog up he’s dangling that thing in front of me and I want one! I’d also like one of those Sneaky Snakes that Goose has.  I figure since I’m so sneaky too, we’d get along great. Okay, ummmmm……..some treats and rawhide chews would be nice too but I really want some of my old Dog Whisperer bones. All we can get now are these stupid sterilized white bones. What’s up with that? They look like they’ve been bleached! Yuk! I figure your Santa, Mr. Magic, the Big Kahuna……you should be able to make this happen. Oh, and could you maybe put a little something in Gloria’s stocking to help with that poo breath? Ya, that’d be nice. Thanks Santa

Your Pal,

Freddie Spaghetti

Freddie Claus!

Freddie Claus!

Dear Santa,

I want world peace.

Love Gloria

Gloria Claus!

Gloria Claus!

Now that Freddie is a dog that knows what he wants. Come on Gloria! Live a little girl!

If you’d like me to publish your letter to Santa, send it to RumpySanta@gmail.com

Happy weekend!
