Bits and Bobs and a Giveaway!

If it wasn’t bad enough that today’s Monday, it’s also the day Hurricane Sandy is making landfall. If you’re reading this, I’m guessing all is well for you now. I hope it stays that way.

found at Huffingtonpost.com

As you know, October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. I don’t have to tell YOU about the great things that come from sharing your life with a dog. But in case you need a reminder, how about checking out Jen’s Saturday post.

Now, a bit of housekeeping. Thanks so much to everyone who came to my Gotcha Day celebration, and a super-duper hurrah! for those of you who are promoting spay/neuter in your community. It won’t be a national movement or worldwide organization that will improve conditions for animals. It will be people like you in every nook and cranny of the world, speaking up and reaching out, that will facilitate lasting change.

A reminder, I had TEN Frosty Paws prize packs to give away. Only TWO winners got back to me. So I still have EIGHT prize packs to give away.

You can win one of ten Frosty Paws prize packs!

Frosty Paws is a frozen treat made especially for dogs. Regular ice cream may cause digestive problems for dogs. This treat won’t. Dogs love it!

Do YOU want to win a Frosty Paws soft dog and two coupons for free Frosty Paws? Then go to my Facebook page, LIKE it if you have not already done so, and post a comment stating that you live in the US and you’d like to win. I will accept entries until the end of the day tomorrow (Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at midnight Central time). I will conduct a random draw and contact the winners.

I also have a coupon for a free package of Innova dog (or cat) food that I’ll be giving away later this week, so come back to see how you can win. That’s up to a $70 value!

A parting word for my friends in the path of the storm: Please stay safe. Stay warm. Check on your neighbors. And ask for help if you need it.

  1. I am not getting the brunt of this storm, I am going to have wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph and sustained of 30 to 40. We will probably loose power. Not to bad right now and I am going to work for a while this morning. I Have to be careful because I work close to the coast where the winds will be over 60 mph, possibly hurricane force. I will be leaving there before they get that strong. I hope everyone that is in the direct path of Sandy stays safe. I cannot imagine what the people in DE, MD, NY and the coasts of New England will be going through. PLease everyone take care yourselves and each other.

  2. Oh Rumpy, I hope you are safe with Sandy on her way. Please be careful and I hope she either misses you completely or becomes severely drained of energy to too a drinking binge 😀
Would love to enter for your prize but, being all the way down South in Africa, that simply isn’t going to work but good luck to the rest.

  10. HI JUST SITTING HERE THIS RAINLY MORNDAY…MY MORNDAY HI…..DOT..BLESSING…………………………………………..Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;”
    Philippians 4:6

Debora could be very stressed: she’s a wife, mother, occupational therapist, writing instructor, piano teacher, speaker, author and (deep intake of breath) tennis enthusiast.

How does Debora handle a stress-filled life like that?

Well, she doesn’t!!! She gives it all to God!

Friend, the Bible says not to worry or be anxious, but to pray…

Tell God about your needs and thank Him.

And God’s peace will guard your heart and mind as you live in Christ.

Debora’s acronym will help you remember:

    It’s p-e-a-c-e… placing each aggravation at Christ’s feet… expectantly!

Yes, real peace is yours when you intentionally give it to god in prayer.

Give each annoyance, dilemma, and burden to God, one by one, and minute by minute.
