Dear DeDe, pets

DeDe: Forgiveness Makes You Beautiful!

Oh Dog! DeDe here with another beauty tip to make you look and feel your best.

054

Part of what makes dogs so appealing is the fact that we don’t carry anger inside.

This week’s tip: Practice forgiveness.

This is a hard one for humans.

But in truth, nothing can make you feel more beautiful than to forgive.

Why is that?

Forgiveness does not come naturally to humans. They like to hold grudges against each other. Even when they claim to have forgiven others, they continue to carry the burden of their anger.

The irony is the only person you harm with your anger is yourself. Many times the person you hold anger for doesn’t even know it.

And when you hold anger, you prevent your true beauty from shining through.

So how do you let go of anger?

For us dogs, it’s easy. We live in the moment.

For you humans, it’s a process. Step one is to WANT to let go.

Some folks need help in working through the anger, the resentment, and the hurt it masks.

But trust me when I say it’s a process well worth it!

I’ve had some rotten things happen in my life, but I don’t carry the memories around today.

And the best part? It makes it much easier to always leave home with this essential beauty product- a smile!

  1. The past should be left in the past because it can destroy your future live your life to what tomorrow has to offer, not for what yesterday took away 🙂 sign I read recently xxx

  2. Go, DeDe. One more way dogs show we’re smarter than humans. Forgive, forget, move on, let’s play!

  4. You are a wise one! My cats don’t hold grudges either. At least not unless you steal their mousies. Anger gives you wrinkles and wrecks your digestive system. Those are two good selfish reasons to let go.

  6. Forgiveness is a very hard thing for people and I for one am guilty of it… but you’re right, live in the moment and let it all go!

  10. This is so true, DeDe. Holding on to anger and resentment is so self-destructive. You can’t control what others do to you, but you can control how you respond. Forgiveness is really important.

  18. True that ! Sweet DeDe, you are so smart and oh so cute. I think that’s all great advice. You can’t control how other people treat you, you can only control how you re-act to it.
