Our Household Has a Common Enemy!

With a household as large as ours, you can imagine there are few topics on which we are all of one mind.

But there is one thing we have all agreed must happen (well, all of us but Jen, who thinks we’re nuts):

The flannel gown must go!

photo 1 (1)

The evil flannel nightgown.

Ever since Jen was gifted this gown, she’s been sleeping all through the night. If we do manage to wake her up, she goes right back to sleep.

And in the mornings, she now hits the snooze button on the alarm!

What sort of magic is this?

Even Hissy succumbed momentarily to its' mystical properties.

Jen says it’s just comfy and warm, but I’m beginning to wonder.

It tried to get Buggie, but he was too fast for that gown.

Something must be done! But what to do?

I think I’ll just grab that gown and……. mmmmm……. cozy! Maybe I’ll just take a nap and think about it.

  2. Oh, Rumpy, send it to me!!! My mom has severe insomnia!

  3. I’m curious (as if I need to ask), is there something of great importance that she needs to get up early for?

  4. Rumpy, Jen is quite lucky that something as simple as a robe will allow her to enter the kingdom of that most illusive of gods, Morpheus. Sleep alludes many Americans, myself among them. I know that you’re the most important member of the household, and that your needs come first, but leave poor bedraggled Jen this one simple gift. The rewards of having a well-rested Human will soon become apparent.

    • I don’t understand. I’ve never had a problem sleeping. Why do so many humans suffer?

      Posted by rumpydog | January 2, 2014, 7:26 AM
      • Rumpy, there are many blessings granted dogs. One such is the ability to sleep anywhere, anytime. People have stuff like “Restless Leg Syndrome,” cramps, back pain – not to mention lying awake thinking about all the things we need to get done. After all, for you, a trip to the vet may be no fun, but for Jen, it means changing her schedule, cancelling plans and taking time away from work – not to mention scaring up the cash. Plus, she shares your fear and pain during the actual procedure. No, given the givens – I’d take being a dog, any day. 🙂

      • When ya describe it like that, makes me wonder again why you humans think you’re the more advanced life form.

  7. MOL! Maybe you can claim it to be yours, Rumpy!

  8. Personally, I agree with you. I don’t think we humans are more advanced, just more….whatever! I’m glad Jen has that nightgown. Even you can see it is magic. I think I’m going to look for one for me. I hope that nightgown will help Jen to get the rest she needs and to help her ease her heart some. I know you all try your best to help her, but sometimes, as you know, a good snooze is just what you need.

  19. At first I was worried that Chez Rumpy would show their hatred for the flannel nightie the way my foster dog showed my polka dot undies–by chewing a little hole in them.

Glad to see you’re at least being polite. 🙂

Though why Jen needs flannel to keep her warm with so much fur around the house, I couldn’t say.

  20. That thing is magical and mystical and snoozy. It’s perfect! You should each get to use it when it’s your turn. That would be sharing….

  25. It looks like the flannel gown won you over, Rumpy. Maybe, when Jen isn’t looking, you can catch a nap or two with it. Happy New Year to everyone at your house.

  27. Ooooohhhhh flannel nightgowns are wonderful, they are soft and snuggly and warm. We think you should sleep on it. You would be doing your Mom Jen a big favor; she would not be late to work. MOL Love, Cali, Andy, Tater and Shelly (C.A.T.S)
