Once again it’s time to nominate blogs for the Dog Time Petties Awards.
Last year I was honored to be nominated. OK, so I begged you to nominate me, and you did.
Then I spent a month begging you to vote for me.
I hated every minute of it.
This year, I’m going to have some fun, and I want you to have some fun too!
I’m begging you NOT to nominate me. I don’t want to go through another month of boring myself and everyone else silly soliciting votes for an award.
Instead, I’m going to bug you silly to nominate and vote for two other blogs that mean a great deal to me. This way, I get much more satisfaction out of the process.
The Creative Cat is the blog of Bernadette Kazmarski. Bernadette has been blogging for a while now. She posts photos of the cats she’s rescued, her cat-related artwork, and information about rescue. She has been involved in rescue for 30 years, and has done some amazing things to help cats. And she’s a fantastic artist. I’ve nominated her for Best Cat Blog.
Animal Shelter Volunteer is the blog of Kevin Hattori and his wife Tracy. Kevin and Tracy posts photos of cats available for adoption from PAWS of Norwalk, CT. They also volunteer at the shelter. They regularly visit and support other bloggers. AND a paying gig on top of all that! Makes me tired just reading all that. They’re not one to blow their own horns, but they work circles around many of the rest of us, and are most deserving of the Best Cause Blog.
If you don’t regularly check out these two blogs, please do. And please consider nominating them for a Petties. After all, I’m going to be bugging you to vote for them if they’re finalists, so you may as well go ahead and get on the bandwagon.

Having gone through that with another voting award, I refuse to spam my followers with voting requests this year; I’m happy to be nominated and let it go at that.
What sucks is that if I don’t pimp myself, then my rescue group - who is awesome - doesn’t get $10k. It’s quite the dilemma.
I love your idea though!

I debated about even mentioning the Petties because I hate asking people to vote, but for the chance to win actual cash money for the people I write about all the time-and who I watch struggle each day-I’ll do it. I just have a nomination button at the bottom of each post, and a button on my sidebar, and I hope people see it.
I actually work a day job too that is unrelated to cats, though nearly all my customers are cat lovers and many have adopted from me, but I’m lucky enough to work at home as a commercial artist, another thing I’ve done for 30 years…
I’d be honored to have you vote for The Creative Cat and perhaps even my chosen rescue, Frankie’s Friends. And whoever wins the Petties, it’s the animals who win the most!
