I have a difficult time getting good photos of the black cats. The lighting in this home is not ideal, and with Little Girl, good luck getting her to stand still long enough to get a decent shot.
But recently I got a good one of each of them, so I thought I’d share them with you. Cute pics always make Monday more bearable.
Hope yours is a good one.

Graybie Baby is a basket case!

She doesn’t appear happy, but I was sure happy Little Girl sat still long enough for me to get a decent photo of her.

thats’s true, it’s not easy to take photos of black animals, but yours are great! and to start a week with a black cat is a sign for good luck, I’m sure :o)
Posted by easyweimaraner | June 9, 2014, 5:55 AMIt’s a sure sign of great things to come!
Posted by rumpydog | June 9, 2014, 5:56 AMAwwwww sweet to see the panthers in your house! I was lucky when I had my Black Jack. He was lazy and I lived in the mountains in a very sunny house. I have quite a few ‘decent’ pics of him but not like Marty and how well he photos.

Posted by Marty the Manx | June 9, 2014, 5:58 AMI hear ya. The ginger cats are so easy to photograph, but getting a good photo of the panthers or even of Malachi, who is mostly white, is not easy.
Posted by rumpydog | June 9, 2014, 6:00 AMWhite would be really tough! Anne is almost impossible!
Posted by Marty the Manx | June 9, 2014, 6:01 AMI love these :) and yes always black panthers hard to get…I have been lucky with Cleo as she is a camera tart :) and I have managed some good ones..but every speck of dust comes up on her too hahaahahah :) Dinnermintz is easy being a ginger and Pickles ..well tabby is easy too Marbles is a blue/cream Tortie and takes great pics..but black and white are both a challenge an you did a great job:) hugs Fozziemum

Thank you very much for sharing them Rumpy! :)
Posted by eripanwkevin | June 9, 2014, 9:39 AMMom has the same issues. Photographing black kitties can be quite difficult. For Mom the lighting isn’t bright enough or Luna comes out super shiny and she isn’t the best at being still either. Mom totally understands and these two came out lovely.
Posted by winterblueangel | June 9, 2014, 11:29 AMExcellent black cat photos! Getting good photos of our black kitties has always been a challenge for me, but it’s so pleasing when I get the rare good one.

Posted by The Island Cats | June 9, 2014, 6:31 PMWe suffer dreadfully from the black animal photo syndrome ;-) So hard to take and good lighting is always vital. You’ve done superbly - gorgeous shots of the lovelies.
Posted by Animalcouriers | June 10, 2014, 7:57 AMI have the same problem Jen, however you did very well here :-)
Posted by mythreemoggies | June 10, 2014, 11:12 AMThey’re both beautiful. They remind me of our black cat, Shadow, who passed in 2001.
Posted by earthriderjudyberman | June 10, 2014, 7:57 PMLove the photos, the black cat is beautiful…not that I’m biased or anything having had a beautiful black cat of my own, before he vanished, never to be seen again after we moved house. I would love to give this one a big wolfie cuddle! :)
Posted by europasicewolf | June 11, 2014, 5:08 PMBeautiful photos of a beautiful cat. Photographing animals is always tricky - you can’t tell them to sit still and say ‘cheese’! (well, you can, but they won’t do it) :)
