Monday is Labor Day here in the US. According to the US Department of Labor, it’s “a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.”
But these days we use it as a holiday to mourn the end of summer. In fact, our society doesn’t much care for workers. We tell ’em to shut up and be grateful they have a job at all. *sigh*
Anyway, in celebration of the holiday, and to assure you that I do indeed earn my keep, here is my tribute to Labor Day!
We start the day with a trip outdoors to pee, and then we have our morning meal.
Followed by a little meditation to clear the mind.
Next it’s time to head out to check the perimeter.
Then we’re on indoor guard duty.
And this doesn’t include all the barking at intruders in our yard, cleaning the floor from evil food crumbs and air conditioner vent inspection.
So for all you dogs and cats in the US and around the world, happy Labor Day, and a big ole’ salute for all that you do! woo woo woo!
